What I'm Working On: April
I almost called this the flower edition. I didn’t realize how many pictures I had been taking of flowers this month, but I have been totally loving all the blooming plants in my yard so it makes sense.
This month life happened, and I wasn’t able to take a photo everyday like I’ve been trying to. I still shot a lot with the sessions I had, all my flower pictures (there’s seriously a lot), and our trip, but I still had stretches of days where I didn’t do anything. While that’s totally okay and I’m not beating myself up about it, I definitely want to do better this month! I kind of miss that feeling of stretching myself to do something different. I have been wanting to try double exposure, maybe May is my month! Also, maybe it isn’t. The end of school gets CRAZY.
In April with this warm weather, we have been able to go on more walks/hikes and I have been LOVING it! Being in nature is just so calming and centering to me, and I am so grateful to have trails literally five minutes from my house. I love that my kids are old enough to come with me, and make up little games to entertain themselves while they walk with me. I love that Emmett talks about our walks and calls them “hike walks.” And I love that my kids are learning to appreciate nature with me.
If I could write a love letter to any month, I think it would be April. Is that weird to say? It’s seriously the best. The weather is awesome (for the most part), all the blooming plants make my heart happy, and it includes the best date of the year (not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket!).
