Veseth-Nelson Family | Smoke Bomb Gender Reveal

This session was soooo fun and exciting! Hether contacted me about doing a smoke bomb gender reveal session and I was already excited, and then she was so excited to find out what she was having that it just ramped up my excitement that much more! I was so honored to be there when they were finding out what they were having. Everyone’s reaction was so cute, especially Hether’s son’s reaction. He kept saying, “I KNEW it was going to be a brother!” So stinkin cute!

We really wanted to do a location where the smoke bomb would pop, so we decided to do it at Los Poblanos open space. Since I had never done any smoke bomb photography, I was a little worried about the smoke looking weird or not being able to capture it, but it worked out! We were able to capture the smoke, and get some gorgeous portraits afterwards as well.

When we scheduled the session, Albuquerque was in its monsoon season. It’s always a little iffy scheduling sessions during monsoon season, and it was actually forecasted to rain right during our session. Thankfully the rain held off, and it just started sprinkling on our way back to the cars.

It was so fun watching this cute family interact. Hether’s son reminded me of my oldest. He was full of energy and all he wanted to do was play games. He was asking from the beginning to play hide and seek, and kept dropping down in the tall grasses to hide and then jump out at us to try and scare us. He LOVED it when I told him to run up behind his parents and give them a big hug to scare them. I think he would’ve done that the whole session if I let him! He was super sweet with his mom and dad too.

Congrats on baby boy #2 Veseth-Nelson family!
