Greenhouse Portrait Session

I don’t personally know a lot of other photographers here in Albuquerque, so I was so glad to be able to meet Alison. It’s so fun talking gear and technical stuff with someone else who know what I’m talking about. So when she reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to trade portraits with her, I was super excited! We had so much fun together, Alison is super fun to hang out with.

We decided to go to a greenhouse, and after just doing a search online I narrowed it down to Osuna Nursery. They were great, and had no problem with us taking photos there. I absolutely LOVE greenery in my photography so I was so happy to be in there. It was like a mini break from the drab winter cold and brown outside. And because it’s a greenhouse, it was so warm in there too! I loved shooting there. The greenery was beautiful, but so was the architecture of the greenhouse. We didn’t get any pictures outside, but even that would’ve been super cute with their bright yellow building.

As a photographer I am constantly behind the camera, so I thought it was a good opportunity to feel like my clients do when we have a session. There were so many times where I asked, “Does this look stupid? Tell me if this looks stupid,” or “Does that look right?” Towards the end of the shoot I was more confident and more relaxed and that’s when some of the best photos happened. So if you feel awkward at all during a session, I totally get it! Just try to be confident and relaxed. And I will definitely be there to help you get there!

Anyone else want to do a session here? I would love to do some couples or families here, I think that would be so fun!
