Steinfeldt Family

The Stienfeldts are another family friend. Curtis and my husband grew up in Spanish Fork together and were best friends throughout high school. They both served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and wrote letters to each other the whole time. When they got back from their missions they went to Snow College and were roommates. Total bromance, am I right? Ha!

So Weston and Curtis had the idea to meet in Durango so we could all ride the Silverton-Durango train together. I totally have a love-hate relationship with that train.

 Love:

-It was absolutely GORGEOUS.

-It was a fun little getaway.

-It was cool to ride in a legit steam train.

Hate:

-It literally took EIGHT hours. It would’ve taken us ONE in a car.

-Eight hours on a train is a LONG time for a kid.

-Silverton was . . . a fun little city. But kind of overpriced?

-Did I mention the eight hours?

Let’s just say my train ride quotient has definitely been filled. And it will stay that way for a LOOONG time. BUT, I also got to take pictures of their freaking cute family so it was totally worth it.

I hadn’t had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Allison before this summer, but she is freaking awesome. I loved watching her interact with her kids. She really listens when her kids talk, and I just love that. She also is a dietician, a fitness instructor, and a fellow intuitive-eater. So she’s basically the coolest person ever. Also, she’s super brave. She faced a nine hour drive to Durango, an eight hour train ride the next day, and then the nine hours back all with a potty-training toddler. I don’t know if I could’ve done that. Ha ha! Here’s their session in beautiful Durango, Colorado.
