Madi's Yoga Session
After I did their couples shoot, my awesome friend Madi asked if I would want to do a yoga session with her. I LOVE to try new things with my photography so I said yes right away! I have to admit, it’s not always the most comfortable thing trying something new, but I really look forward to the opportunities to learn and grow as a photographer.
Madi became a yoga instructor after moving to Albuquerque. She graciously did a couple yoga classes for the youth in my church, and since I work with the youth I got to go too. I have to say that Madi is my favorite instructor I’ve ever had when it comes to yoga. I love the way she explains things, and I felt like my technique was a lot better with her. It’s also because of her that I got introduced to ashtanga yoga, which is super fun. I don’t usually do the whole primary series because I don’t have time, but maybe someday it’ll happen.
After seeing all the cool poses and balances that Madi can do, not to mention how flexible she is, it’s totally inspired me to want to be more flexible. I’ve started stretching a lot more at night when I’m watching TV with Weston and I feel like I’m VERY SLOWLY getting more flexible, ha!
Madi came to this session with a lot of ideas, and I loved it. She thought it would be good to do her session on the grounds of a private school here in Albuquerque. I thought it was so fun that she wanted to climb up on walls and posts to showcase her skill. There was one point where she was up on a wall and campus security came pretty close. My rule-following self was getting a little nervous we would get in trouble, but I think he could care less that we were up on the wall.
I had so much fun hanging out with Madi and seeing her mad yoga skills. I’m kind of kicking myself that we didn’t hang out more while she lived here!
